2019 Paddle for the Bays RACE Cape Cod
ONLINE EARLY REGISTRATION HAS CLOSED
SAME DAY REGISTRATION WILL BE AVAILABLE STARTING AT 7AM ON SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 14TH
Here are a few details to make RACE day easy and fun for all:
- The RACE venue is on the beach at the Oyster Harbors Club (OHC). The OHC address is 170 Grand Island Drive, Osterville, MA. Please identify yourself as a Paddle Racer at the Gatehouse. Please do not arrive any earlier than 6:45a.m. to the Gatehouse.
- Once you pass through the gate, follow the RACE signs to the OHC, where you will be directed by volunteers to a NEW drop-off area for your board/kayak on the beach. You will then be directed to the parking area above the tennis courts. Please follow all RACE signs to the OHC and stay on these main roads only.
- Check-in/registration begins at 7:00a.m. and is located on the back deck of the tennis clubhouse. You will receive your bib, RACE shirt and blue Beach Party wristband. In addition, all racers must sign the RACE waiver. Bibs must be worn on front for timing purposes.
- Mandatory safety meeting for all racers begins at approximately 8:30a.m.
- All Racers must where a PFD (Personal Flotation Device).
- Race start times are as follows:
- Youth – 8:45a.m.
- 10 milers – 9:00a.m.
- 5 milers – 9:10a.m.
- Relay Race – approximately 11:00a.m.
- Final deadline for RACE fundraising is 12:00p.m. on Saturday, September 14th. If you have not created a fundraising page yet, click here and click on Become a Fundraiser to create your fundraising page.
- All spectators coming to the RACE must purchase a Beach Party ticket to get a pink wristband. Tickets will be available at the registration tables – $20.00 for adults, $10.00 for youth (under 16). During the beach party, beer tickets will be sold for $5.00/beer.
- NEW!!! We have a special Bucket Auction featuring select items that you can enter to win. Just purchase tickets and place your ticket in the bucket associated with each item. Winners will be picked after the awards ceremony and must be present to win. Ticket prices are $5.00 for 1 or $40.00 for 10. All proceeds from the auction directly benefit BCWC.

Saturday, September 14, 2019, marks the 9th annual Paddle for the Bays: RACE Cape Cod, a test of speed and endurance for all levels of paddlers on paddleboards and/or kayaks. One of the most beautiful courses on the East Coast. Organized by and benefiting Barnstable Clean Water Coalition, one of Cape Cod’s leading water-quality advocacy groups. Your support will help Barnstable Clean Water Coalition on their mission to restore and preserve clean water in the town of Barnstable.

Thanks to all of the Paddle for the Bays RACE: Cape Cod 2019 racers, supporters, volunteers and sponsors who came out early on Saturday, September 14th to raise money and awareness about clean water issues in Barnstable.
Over seventy racers – standup paddlers and kayakers, kids and adults, individuals and relay teams – paddled from the beach at Oyster Harbors Club through Cotuit, North and West Bays around Oyster Harbors. Sunny skies prevailed for the race, making for a great day filled with food and fun.
Congratulations to all of our 2019 Paddlers for a job well done and we hope to see you out on the bays again next year!
